Love In Vermont - Will & Sean's Wedding Part II

Well the rain came - and we all more than survived
After the beautiful sunny day that lasted through the wedding
ceremony came the thunder storm. But there were shelters in
the storm and we all happily sought them.
Well why you may ask is this blog entry appearing today as it's about Sean & Will's wedding so many years ago - but somehow it didn't get published back then! I just found it! There were two other entries at the time and somehow this didn't get published. So here it is now.
Just a few shots from the coming thunder storm first. But lets return to the ceremony. The rings were sent out on a trip around the guests to be warmed with their love, shepherded by Sean's nephew Daniel. We had a wonderful rendition of "How Deep is Your Love" from the Bee Gees by Derrick Smith. Heather read "Sonnet 116 by Shakespeare and Gary DeKrey, Will's father, gave the next reading, "The Seven Blessings".

Wedding Blessings
(Adapted from Seven Blessings of Jewish wedding ceremony)

Blessed is the One who created all human beings. Bless the two of you who come out of long traditions of struggling to find out what it is to be human. May you be full of the love of life. May the spirit of life, the knowledge of the human heart, and the love of others always be with you.

Blessed is the One. All creation mirrors your splendor and reflects your radiance. Bless the two of you. May the two of you know that all beauty comes from the Great Heart of Love, and may you always live in its radiance.

Blessed is the One who created human beings. Bless the two of you. May you know it all -- joy and struggle, beauty and sorrow, sweat, tears, solitude, companionship, laughter and ecstasy. May your marriage sustain you as you experience whatever you must in order to come to know yourselves and each other, to find happiness, and to discover the entire range of your humanity.

Blessed is the One who created all human beings in the divine image, so that we may live, love, enjoy life, and serve one another. Bless the two of you. May you delight in the wonder of being both so similar and so different -- may the difficulty and enormous pleasure of being together continually fascinate and engage you.

Blessed is the One who brings people together and unites the divided. In joy we have come to witness this marriage of Sean and Will. It is said that everyone gets married at a wedding. Bless the two of you who bring us together, from our different traditions, through your union today.

Blessed is the creation of joy and celebration, lover and beloved, gladness and jubilation, pleasure and delight, love and solidarity, friendship and peace. Soon may we hear the voice of joy, the voice of gladness, and the voice of youth from their feasts and songs. Blessed is the joy of lovers, one with another. Blessed is the joy of the friends and community brought together today.
